About LL Events and Design

We’re Laura Lee and Jake Wood, the duo behind LL Events and Design! Since 2017, we’ve been bringing unforgettable events to life, starting in Tuscaloosa and expanding into Birmingham, Dothan, Mobile, and the North Florida Panhandle.

My journey into event planning began with a love for design—creating calligraphy and graphic elements for family and friends. But it was planning my sister’s wedding that truly sparked my passion for events! From there, I gained hands-on experience, coordinating rehearsal dinners while working as a Special Events Assistant with University of Alabama Athletics, handling events at Bryant-Denny Stadium. 

Wanting to dive deeper, I took on an Events Coordinator role at The Club in Birmingham, where I managed menus, rentals, timelines, diagrams, setups, and breakdowns—all on top of executing events ranging from weddings to business luncheons, galas, fashion shows, and more.

In 2022, Jake and I moved to Dothan, AL, to embrace a slower-paced life while growing our own businesses. If you book with us, you’ll see Jake in action on event days—he’s my right-hand man (and muscle!), ensuring everything runs smoothly. But when it comes to the vision, planning, and execution, I’m the LL behind LL Events and Design!
